Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a Manager to join our growing Consulting practice and serve Tribal government clients with ongoing accounting services and grants management. This role emphasizes delivering high-value client deliverables and collaborative problem-solving.

Responsibilities include monthly closings, grant reporting, policy development, and audit coordination, with opportunities to travel to client sites and industry conferences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; emphasis in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience, not for profit and/or governmental experience.
• Experience in grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, governmental accounting standards implementation, and/or accounts payable processing.

Responsibilities

• Performs operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, including monthly closing, grants management, grant reporting, and financial reporting to key decision makers.
• Prepares polished deliverables for clients; ensures timely client deliverables.
• Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters.
• Collaborates with clients to understand current practices, identify improvements, and develop updated policies and procedures.
• Performs project start up activities, following project work plans and schedules.
• Coordinates with clients during the audit process and helps prepare for audits.
• Assists with growing the practice.
• Reviews work for accuracy.
• Serves as an integral member of the Business Consulting Services team.
• Occasionally travels to client locations or industry conferences.
