Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of related nonprofit/government experience.
• Experience in grants management, financial accounting, accounts payable preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication for client service via multiple channels.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Performs accounting services for Tribal governments, including monthly close, grants management, and financial reporting.
• Prepares polished deliverables for clients; ensures timely client deliverables.
• Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters.
• Works with clients to understand practices, identify improvements, define new processes, and update policies.
• Performs project start up activities, following work plans and schedules; attends kickoff meetings.
• Coordinates with clients during audits and helps prepare for audits.
• Assists with growing the practice.
• Reviews the work of self and team for accuracy.
• Serves as an integral member of our Business Consulting Services team.
• Occasionally travels to client locations, firm trainings, or industry conferences.
