Job summary

Vail Health seeks a Triage RN to perform care coordination and professional nursing functions, assessing health concerns and triaging to emergency care, urgent care, or clinic appointments. You will support providers by triaging patient calls and portal messages within the licensed scope.

You will document nursing assessments and plans, coordinate schedules, and participate in quality improvement initiatives, while adhering to HIPAA and organizational values in a team-based setting.

Qualifications

• 3 years clinical experience with patient care and administrative duties preferred.
• Knowledge of disease processes across all age groups required.
• Nursing assessment skills with basic theory required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and assesses patients using triage protocols.
• Supports providers in triaging calls and portal messages.
• Documents symptoms, assessments, advice, and outcomes in EHR.
• Coordinates same-day and future appointments.
• Follows triage protocols and standing orders.
• Participates in KPI reviews and quality improvement.
