WSP is seeking an experienced Transmission Planning Engineer (PSCAD Specialist) to join our Electrical Studies, SCADA, and Protection (ESSP) team, based in the Denver, CO office with consideration for other U.S. office locations or fully remote.

You will lead EMT transmission studies, develop PSCAD models for generation, load, and FACTS resources, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with clients to deliver reliable energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• 7–10 years of transmission planning with EMT studies.
• PSCAD experience including complex controls and FACTS modeling.
• Experience developing and tuning PSCAD models.
• Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Must reside and work within the United States.

Responsabilités

• Perform EMT work for network studies and interconnection tasks.
• Develop generation, load, and asset models; use manufacturer models when applicable.
• Tune control parameters in PSCAD to meet performance targets.
• Develop controls for power plants, grid-forming resources, FACTS equipment.
• Deliver projects per scope, schedule, and budget; prepare reports.
• Mentor junior engineers and support the transmission planning team.
• Engage in business development activities and client meetings.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency via automation/AI.
