Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer II for a fully remote role, located in Tulsa, OK. You will support a large utility customer, lead design and project activities, and mentor junior engineers within the Transmission Line Engineering Department.

The role requires designing 69–765 kV transmission lines, using PLS-CADD, coordinating with contractors and regulators, and traveling for site visits as needed. ABET-credited degrees preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering (ABET).
• Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering (ABET) will count toward years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Engineering and design activities related to Transmission Line Engineering such as engineering analysis and design, route selection, material acquisition, structural and foundation design, and project and construction management.
• Prepare project construction documents such as plan and profile drawings; design drawings; engineering, material, and construction specifications; project schedules and bills of material
• Develop project design alternatives and corresponding cost estimates
• Design new transmission line facilities with voltages ranging between 69 kV and 765 kV
• Utilize PLS-CADD to model transmission line design projects.
• Attend contractor bid and construction meetings and assist in ensuring that work activities are performed safely and in accordance with plans and established schedules
• Coordinate effectively with governmental and regulatory agencies and contractors
• Provide leadership to facilitate project completion, to train and mentor other engineers, and to develop measurable work area goals and objectives
• Function as an engineering project lead for transmission projects
• Lead, facilitate, and coordinate work activities of others within the work group, team, department, or external entities to complete transmission projects
• Provide training and guidance to lower-level employees

Education

ABET-accredited Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering

ABET-accredited Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering
