Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer III for a fully remote role, with a permanent position based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The engineer leads design projects, coordinates with in-house and client teams, and uses PLS-CADD to model transmission line projects, from 69 kV to 765 kV, while mentoring junior engineers.

The role emphasizes project leadership, regulatory coordination, and training responsibilities, with travel to sites as needed and a focus on safety and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering (ABET) required.
• Master’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering (ABET) counts toward experience.

Responsibilities

• Engineering and design activities for Transmission Line Engineering, including analysis, design, route selection, and project management.
• Prepare construction documents: plan and profile drawings, specifications, schedules, and BOMs.
• Develop design alternatives and cost estimates.
• Design new transmission lines 69–765 kV.
• Model designs using PLS-CADD.
• Attend bid and construction meetings; oversee safety and schedule compliance.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and contractors.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and set goals for the team.
• Act as engineering project lead for transmission projects.
• Lead and coordinate work within groups to complete projects.
• Provide training to lower-level employees.
• Identify corrective actions when objectives aren’t met.
• Interpret codes/regulations and develop construction standards.
• Promote engineering professionalism and standards.
• Develop, implement plans with goals, resources, and schedule.
• Occasional travel for site visits.
