Job summary
Firstpoint Group seeks an experienced Resident Engineer to support telecom solutions across the USA on a full-time remote basis. You will own deployment support, troubleshooting, and infrastructure monitoring, leveraging Linux, Python, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker, and Ansible to drive reliable operations.
Ideal candidates have 5+ years in customer-facing telecom/IT roles, strong scripting skills, and deep understanding of SIP/IP telephony, network protocols, and Agile/Scrum environments, with
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years in a customer-facing technical role in telecom/IT infra.
- Strong Linux admin and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in Python and Linux shell scripting.
- Hands-on with OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker, and Ansible.
- Deep knowledge of SIP/IP telephony and core networking protocols.
- Experience with Wireshark and packet captures for analysis.
- Excellent communication and Agile/Scrum experience.
- U.S. Citizen, Green Card, or Visa TN only (no sponsorship).
Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical support, deployment oversight, and troubleshooting for telecom monitoring solutions.
- Administer Linux-based servers, enterprise environments, and virtualized infra.
- Develop automation scripts in Python and Shell.
- Deploy and manage containerized apps with Kubernetes, Docker, and Ansible.
- Support OpenStack and Azure AKS architectures.
- Troubleshoot SIP/IP telephony and related protocols; analyze network traffic.
- Lead client discussions and document root-cause analyses for enterprise clients.
- Collaborate with international teams in Agile/Scrum settings.
