Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Writer to support the VA HTMS contract. This fully remote role across the United States focuses on managing leadership-level artifacts and QA for documents during Electronic Health Record transitions.

Responsibilities include creating clear, well-edited documentation, collaborating with SMEs, and maintaining communications plans. The position requires a 5+ year background in technical writing, with Agile experience and proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, CS, or related field with 5+ years of experience.
• 3–5 years relevant experience; UX software certifications may substitute for education.
• Experience on Enterprise VA projects or other federal agencies.
• Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience operating in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Write, rewrite, and edit technical documentation and team communications.
• Translate complex information into clear narratives for senior leadership.
• Apply editorial standards across documentation.
• Collaborate with SMEs to develop comprehensive deliverables.
• Draft meeting minutes with tight turnaround times.
• Support continuous improvement of artifacts during VA EHR transitions.
