Job summary

Commerce is a remote-first company seeking a skilled technical writer to craft high-quality product training and developer guides for our open, AI-driven commerce platform. You will translate complex platform changes into clear, engaging learning content across formats and help enable a broad developer ecosystem.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Professional Services to deliver accurate content, develop video training, and apply adult-learning principles to maximize impact.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in technical writing, instructional design, product training, or developer education.
• Working knowledge of GitHub and local development; able to run and modify a site locally with Next.js or Nuxt.js.
• Experience with ecommerce tools and applications, including SaaS and open source storefronts, headless implementations, ERP, POS, PIM, OMS, and payment gateways.
• Solid technical foundation: comfortable with APIs and able to run API requests from API docs or a Postman library; familiar with front-end tools.
• Excellent written/spoken communication; able to explain technical topics clearly to varied audiences.
• Proactive, collaborative communicator across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and update Commerce training content aligned with platform releases.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Professional Services to translate platform changes into learning material.
• Produce product and developer-focused video content, including scripts and screen recordings.
• Apply adult learning best practices to maximize engagement and effectiveness.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate content creation and improve learner experience.
• Deliver virtual and in-person training for enterprise merchants and partners as needed.
