Job summary

Grace, a Standard Industries company, seeks a specialist-level Technical Service professional to support hydroprocessing catalyst technologies across refinery accounts. You will be the primary technical contact, monitor catalyst performance, assist with unit startups, and contribute to customer proposals.

The role requires 7+ years refinery experience and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, with strong data analysis and the ability to travel up to 40%.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years refinery experience with hydroprocessing design, operations, kinetics, and data analysis.
• Knowledge of refining technology, operations, and economics; ability to communicate customer value.
• Understanding of field equipment and overall plant operations.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and manage multiple activities.
• Ability to present data and recommendations to customer management.
• Ability to work independently and in remote environments; interact with diverse teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% (typical 20–30%).
• TWIC eligibility, if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for refinery accounts; build customer relationships.
• Conduct customer site visits for technical reviews and data updates; interpret operating data.
• Support in-plant catalyst loadings, sulfiding, and unit startups on site; follow safety standards.
• Address operating questions and troubleshoot processes; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Develop technical inputs for customer proposals with Sales.
• Provide unit operating data to R&D and translate findings into recommendations.
• Manage multiple customer activities concurrently with autonomy in a remote setting.
• Work safely in a refinery environment.
