Job summary

AvatarFleet is seeking a Systems & Security Engineer to own day-to-day security administration and infrastructure operations in a fully remote role. You will collaborate with the CTO and the software team to maintain uptime, hardened Linux hosts, and scalable AWS resources across EC2, ECS, S3, and more.

You will drive SOC 2 Type II evidence collection and control execution while prioritizing risk, availability, and customer impact. Strong scripting and automation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Linux systems administration in production environments.
• Strong AWS administration across EC2, ECS, IAM, networking, and storage.
• Experience supporting SOC 2 Type II audits and controls.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and secure deployment practices.

Responsibilities

• Administer AWS resources (EC2, ECS, WAF, ALB, S3, EFS) and networking components.
• Maintain Linux hosts, containers, services, and system configuration.
• Lead monitoring, incident response, and reliability improvements.
• Support CI/CD configuration, environments, and deployment troubleshooting.
• Automate provisioning and patching with Terraform, Ansible, and AWS CLI.
