Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a hands-on Systems Engineer/Administrator for a contract role based out of Chicago, IL. The candidate will deploy and configure Windows Server 2022, manage VMware/Hyper-V environments, and support data migrations alongside hardware refreshes.

Responsibilities include staging infrastructure, troubleshooting, and providing both onsite migrations and ongoing remote support until full transition. Some monthly travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Windows Server, VMware/Hyper-V, Active Directory administration, SQL Server backup and restore
• Solid networking fundamentals including switching, routing, firewalls, and IP addressing
• Experience with hardware refreshes, data migrations, and server migrations
• Experience with OpenShift modernization or container migrations is a plus

Responsibilities

• Staging and deploying server, storage, network, and security hardware
• Loading and configuring Windows Server 2022 environments and applications
• Support data migrations and hardware refreshes
• Troubleshoot complex issues via log analysis and collaborate with customers onsite and remotely
