Job summary

Transcend IT Solutions seeks Virtualization Systems Engineer to implement VM automation using OpenShift, migrating from OpenStack to a virtualized OpenShift-based environment. The role focuses on IaaS for Private Cloud, with on-site work in Jersey City, NJ.

The team handles deployments, compute, storage and networking, aiming for large-scale automation and performance validation of VMs. Experience with HyperV is a plus and cross-team collaboration is required.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience with OpenShift and VMware in enterprise environments.
• Strong Linux (Red Hat) and Ceph storage knowledge required.
• Scripting in Python to automate VM-related tasks is essential.
• Experience migrating from OpenStack to virtualized infrastructure is a plus.
• Ability to design and deploy compute, storage, and networking solutions at scale.

Responsibilities

• Implement VM automation using OpenShift for private cloud environments.
• Manage deployments and scale-out strategies for virtualization workloads.
• Collaborate with vendors and teams on performance testing of VMs.
• Support migration from OpenStack to OpenShift-based virtualization.
• Work on compute, storage, and networking components across the infra.
