Job summary

TEKsystems seeks a Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect to deliver VMware, Linux, and Windows support in an enterprise IT environment. The role includes on-site work for a DC government facility and flexible telework with occasional data center visits in Ashburn, VA, or DC.

The candidate will design solutions, perform health checks, patch management, and collaborate with Government teams to optimize virtualization and storage, including cloud-first moves.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with VMware, Linux, and Windows in enterprise environments.
• Experience with server networking, storage, and data management.
• Knowledge of VMware VRealize, vCenter, VCSA, and patch management tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily health checks and respond to events in management tools.
• Conduct system audits and maintenance to ensure health and optimization.
• Decommission virtual servers as notified by Government representatives.
• Provide design recommendations for moving from hybrid to cloud-only storage/virtualization.
