Job summary

Iron Bow Technologies is seeking an OpenShift Virtualization Engineer to design, deploy, and operate a multi-tier Red Hat OpenShift environment while migrating ~10,000 VMs from VMware ESXi to OpenShift Virtualization in a large on-premises setup. You will drive platform automation, pipelines, and secret management in a highly regulated setting.

The role demands deep OpenShift, VMware ESXi expertise, and experience with MTV/KubeVirt, Ansible, and GitOps.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, deploying, and administering OpenShift in enterprise environments.
• Strong VMware ESXi/vSphere administration experience, incl. networking and resources.
• Hands-on experience leading or supporting large enterprise VM migrations.
• Experience with MTV, OpenShift Virtualization, or similar tools.
• Strong troubleshooting across virtualization, networking, storage, infra platforms.
• Experience with OpenShift Compliance Operator and remediation processes.
• Proficiency with Ansible, Git, GitOps, and registries like Quay.
• Experience with vaults like HashiCorp Vault or CyberArk.
• Experience with Agile tools: JIRA, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support OpenShift clusters across a hub-and-spoke architecture.
• Lead large-scale migrations of Windows and RHEL VMs to OpenShift Virtualization.
• Translate VMware concepts to OpenShift Virtualization and Kubernetes equivalents.
• Troubleshoot migration issues and manage cutovers during maintenance windows.
• Deploy core OpenShift services such as Dynatrace and Splunk and enable compliance tooling.
• Build automation pipelines with Ansible, Git, and GitOps practices.
• Integrate enterprise secrets management into the platform.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to achieve accreditation.
