Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineer/Programmer to plan, manage, and support the bank's complex infrastructure. You will lead technical issues, mentor teammates, and ensure reliability across Windows, Unix, and mainframe environments.

This role demands advanced problem solving, strong scripting, and hands-on experience with multi-platform systems, disaster recovery, and performance tuning. Remote work is possible with eligible U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of Systems engineer and systems programmer experience or High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of Systems engineer and systems programmer experience.

Responsibilities

• Technical Support - lead installation, testing, and upgrades; document all activities and manage backup/recovery processes.
• System Testing - coordinate testing for function, stability, performance and resources.
• System Enhancement - monitor and improve systems, automate tasks, use scripting to support duties.
• Technical Expertise - share knowledge, guide less experienced staff, manage complex projects.
