Job summary

City of Virginia Beach is seeking an IT Systems Analyst II to support End User Computing by planning, coordinating, administering, and maintaining the software inventory and catalog. The role emphasizes asset management, license compliance, and service delivery across departments.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in IT and 4+ years of specialized IT experience, with strong ServiceNow SAM expertise and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology related field plus four (4) years of professional IT experience; OR eight (8) years in IT business applications.
• Experience with ServiceNow Software Asset Management Professional preferred.
• Strong understanding of software licensing standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage SAMPro
• Lead the software asset management program
• Create, manage, and maintain software catalog
• Manage the software asset life cycle
• Manage software license inventory, compliance, and renewals
• Evaluate costs of purchasing and managing software assets
• Generate inventory reports
• Collaborate with vendors and publishers
• Develop and update SOPs for managing software assets
