Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a System Design Engineer to advance EcoPlant’s SaaS platform across the United States and Canada. You will serve as the product technical expert during pre-sales, design system architectures and guide installation with field teams.

A strong focus on IoT, data security, and multi-site deployments will define success. You will collaborate with the Ecoplant Engine team to finalize designs, create documentation, and support post-install troubleshooting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related technical field required.
Demonstrated experience with system architecture design in industrial environments.
2+ years' industrial IT / networking experience; IoT device installation experience.
2+ years of customer service experience in a technical industry.
Ability to read blueprints & schematics; strong problem-solving skills.
Understanding IoT protocols (Modbus, Profibus, TCP/IP), networking, and data security.
Ability to manage multiple urgent issues in parallel.
Proficiency with Google and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

Provide pre-sales technical expertise and participate in customer calls.
Answer architecture and data security questions as first-line support.
Occasionally perform site surveys for complex installations.
Design system architecture for new installations; select hardware; create BOM and P&IDs.
Provide technical specs to Engine team for Dynamic Engine design.
Build customer dashboards and support remote installation teams.
Complete technical documentation post deployment (as-builts, mapping, integration details).
Manage troubleshooting and escalate to product management and R&D as needed.
Liaise with product management to feedback on design and roadmap.
Support training and onboarding of new associates with technical product training.
