Job summary

Metrc is seeking a proactive Support Engineer to join our remote team. You will resolve complex system and API issues, bridging Support and Development to improve .NET/C# and Node.js applications with code-driven debugging and automation.

You’ll write scripts, create detailed Jira tickets, and contribute to internal tooling while communicating status clearly to stakeholders. A builder’s mindset and strong communication are essential in a fast-moving cannabis-regulatory tech company.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of hands-on technical support or software engineering.
• Experience with .NET (C#) and/or Node.js applications.
• Ability to read code, debug behavior, and write lightweight scripts.
• Familiarity with SQL, RESTful APIs, and debugging tools.
• Exposure to Git, CI/CD, Docker, or Kubernetes is a plus.
• Must be based and work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Serve as escalation point for complex system and API issues.
• Review logs, trace application behavior, and reproduce defects.
• Create detailed Jira tickets with steps, logs, and findings.
• Write scripts to automate troubleshooting and reduce time-to-resolution.
• Identify recurring issues and drive code-based fixes.
• Develop internal tools, runbooks, and automation.
• Proactively communicate status updates to end users.
• Maintain troubleshooting guides and knowledge base articles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
