Job summary

Aquent is seeking a proactive support engineer to join our autonomous vehicle tech team in a fast-paced, customer-focused role. You will own initial responses, triage issues, and guide cases to resolution, while maintaining professional communication with developers and customers.

You’ll expand your scope over time to cover CI/build tooling, remote environments, and debugging complex configurations, with on-call rotations and clear runbooks to empower self-service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field is required.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience is required.
• Basic networking literacy including SSH, DNS, VPNs and proxies.
• Cross-platform fluency across macOS, Windows, Linux.
• Strong command-line, shell navigation, logs, and config edits.
• Version control basics and PR review experience.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and ticket hygiene.
• Problem-solving mindset with ability to reproduce and describe issues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own the first response to incoming requests and monitor support channels.
• Triage issues by reproducing, categorizing severity, and routing as needed.
• Resolve or escalate niche environment or configuration issues.
• Escalate complex issues with tight reproductions and context for action.
• Improve support docs by creating runbooks, FAQs, and updated content.
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation for high-severity escalations.
• Initially focus on remote development environment connection issues.
