Zusammenfassung

GFT is seeking an experienced Physical Designer (Substation) to support high voltage substation projects in the US, with offices in multiple cities and the option to work fully remote. The role focuses on design, drafting, and engineering deliverables for 34.5kV–500kV substations, under senior supervision.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in substation design, CAD proficiency (AutoCAD or MicroStation), and familiarity with NEC/NESC/IEEE/ANSI standards.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of substation or electrical T&D design experience.
• Proficient in CAD tools (AutoCAD or MicroStation) and related design deliverables.
• Familiar with NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI and rural substation design guides.
• Ability to review vendor submittals and ensure design conformance.
• Capable of producing complete construction documents with minimal supervision.
• Experience with high voltage (MV/HV/EHV) substations and duct banks.

Aufgaben

• Design and execute HV substations from 34.5kV to 500kV with emphasis on safety, cost, and reliability.
• Generate designs and engineering deliverables under senior guidance.
• Create general arrangement, elevations, grounding, and conduit drawings.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and contribute to field data collection.
• Create and review single line diagrams, layouts, and grounding plans.
• Travel to job sites for assessments and data gathering as needed.
• Oversee production to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Coordinate with vendors and ensure compliance with design parameters.
