Job summary

Atwell, LLC is seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to oversee detailed design packages for substations and related facilities. You will manage multi-discipline teams, forecast workload, and drive project delivery while upholding NEI standards and quality control.

You will coordinate design activities, develop cost estimates, schedules, and change orders in collaboration with our project managers, ensuring safe, compliant, and timely outcomes across a range of large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical or civil engineering from an accredited institution.
• Experience: 5+ years of engineering or relevant field experience.
• Licensure: FE is required, PE is preferred.
• Engineering expertise in physical substation design including substation equipment and layouts.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience adhering to NEC/NESC/IEEE codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the detailed design packages including general arrangements, elevations, foundation plans, structure design, and related calculations.
• Manages design activities, scheduling, forecasting, and coordination across disciplines for projects of varying scale.
• Develops workload forecasts with accurate active project lists and ETC hours with leadership.
• Maintains ownership of project portfolio, driving performance improvements and accountability.
• Oversees weekly budgets and tracks project finances to maintain fiscal responsibility.
• Addresses and mitigates project risks to ensure continuity and client satisfaction.
• Ensure adherence to NEI processes, standards, and guidance to the team.
