Job summary

Atwell, LLC is seeking a Substation Engineer to design and analyze substations for clients in the US and Canada within the Oil & Gas sector. You will lead technical efforts, ensure quality, and mentor junior engineers.

You will perform QA/QC, train staff in substation design and BESS facilities, and manage project scope and budgets while coordinating with directors and managers to meet client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• US PE licensure (E.) preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MathCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• QA/QC: Implement the NEI Quality Assurance Plan and ensure overall quality and accuracy.
• Train junior engineers and designers in electrical substation design and BESS facilities.
• Lead Phase Manager (PPM): technical leadership, scope, budget, and execution oversight.
• Write technical go-bys and training documents; enforce technical standards.
• Review submittals for conformance with owner and client specifications.
• Prepare calculations and models for physical designs.
• Manage deliverables and deadlines for internal QA/QC and client deadlines.
• Coordinate with Directors and PMs on project delivery and client requirements.
• Provide coaching to Team Members; perform field inspection when needed.
