SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer II, Substation to own preliminary substation design and engineering lifecycle for utility-scale solar and related projects. This fully remote role demands coordinating with BD, estimating, and engineering teams to ensure alignment of design basis, scope, and schedule before execution.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in electrical engineering, 3+ years in substation engineering, and proficiency in AutoCAD or ETAP. Travel up to 10% may be needed.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in electrical substation engineering.
• Proficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar).
• Strong understanding of substation design principles, protection schemes, and industry standards (IEEE, NEC, NESC, etc).
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Aufgaben

• Own the first-pass preliminary substation design approach for assigned pursuits and projects by reviewing requirements and inputs to define the design basis, assumptions, equipment, quantities, risks, and open items for 10% design deliverable.
• Review client documents, technical exhibits, PPAs, interconnection agreements, and related project information to identify requirements, risks, and scope.
• Serve as the primary substation design subject matter expert coordinating inputs from engineering consultants, procurement, estimating, scheduling, and other specialists.
• Lead development of the 10% substation design, including single-line diagrams, general arrangement drawings, and equipment sizing for estimating.
• Prepare handoff to Preconstruction Engineering by transferring RFIs, comments, design risks, procurement constraints, and open items.
