Job summary

Powerserve Technologies in Florida is seeking a Substation Design Engineer (Civil/Structural) to design civil and structural components for utility substations. This role collaborates with electrical engineers and project teams to deliver constructible designs across site development and foundations.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Civil/Structural Engineering and 3+ years of design experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and STAAD.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Civil/Structural design tools used for substation projects.
• Strong understanding of structural analysis, foundations, and site development.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in an EPC/project-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop civil and structural components of electrical substations.
• Prepare and review foundation designs, structural steel layouts, and site drainage plans.
• Perform engineering calculations, analysis, and code compliance reviews.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure design feasibility.
• Collaborate with clients, utilities, and permitting agencies.
• Provide occasional field support during construction (light travel within Florida).
• Review and approve drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Ensure designs meet IEEE, ASCE, ACI, and local/state codes.
