Job summary

Tetra Tech, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Structural Engineer for a full-time role that can be performed remotely or in a hybrid setup across the U.S. The ideal candidate brings 4+ years in structural engineering, a current EIT, and is eligible for the PE within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from ABET accredited college/university with emphasis on Structural Engineering.
• 4+ years of relevant structural engineering experience in A&E plus government contracting/consulting.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; must be eligible to sit for the PE exam within 12 months.
• Proficiency with structural engineering tools such as Revit, RISA-3D, SAP2000, and Bluebeam.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
• Willingness to travel to client offices and project sites as needed (5%).
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Support the structural design and analysis of facilities projects under the guidance of senior staff.
• Lead portions of design work and contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Design structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and foundation systems for new buildings.
• Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and specifications in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Perform field investigations and assist in writing condition assessment reports.
• Coordinate with architects, other engineering disciplines, and stakeholders throughout the design process.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate drafting efforts as needed.
• Model structural systems in Revit and assist with BIM coordination.
• Design in compliance with local and state codes, and support adherence to Federal UFC guidelines.
• Use structural engineering software such as RISA to perform analysis and design tasks.
• Assist in managing project schedules and deliverables to help ensure on-time completion.
