Job summary

Tetra Tech's High-Performance Building division is seeking a full-time Mid-Level Structural Engineer to join our team. You will work on challenging projects across construction types and industry sectors, collaborating with engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver safe, code-compliant designs.

The role supports field investigations, design calculations, BIM modeling in Revit, and coordination across disciplines.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited structural engineering degree required.
• 4+ years of structural engineering experience in A&E or government contracting/consulting.
• EIT certification; eligible to sit for PE within 12 months.
• Working knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry design; travel 5%+.
• Proficient with Revit, RISA-3D, SAP2000, Bluebeam; good communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and hold a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support structural design and analysis under senior staff guidance.
• Lead portions of design and contribute to multidisciplinary teams.
• Design steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and foundations for new buildings.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, and specs per codes.
• Perform field investigations and assist in condition assessment reports.
• Coordinate with architects, other disciplines, and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate drafting efforts.
• Model in Revit and assist BIM coordination.
• Ensure compliance with local/state codes and UFC guidelines.
• Use RISA for analysis and design tasks; help manage project schedules.
