Job summary

FreedomCare is seeking a State Adherence Specialist I to manage ongoing regulatory compliance for a growing home-care program in a remote role based in Pennsylvania. This position covers Pre-Care and On-Care workflows, enrollment verification, and audit readiness across DOH, DOL, federal, and payer requirements.

You will review documents, monitor renewals, advise internal teams on regulatory processes, and support audits while safeguarding HIPAA and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in healthcare operations or compliance.
• Experience with onboarding and medical records.
• Attention to detail with confidential documentation.
• Interest in DOH, DOL, Medicaid regulatory requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interpret policies and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Ongoing compliance of assigned patient and caregiver cases in Pre-Care and On-Care.
• Review enrollment docs to ensure DOH/DOL and payer requirements.
• Verify caregiver eligibility including background checks and I-9/E-Verify.
• Monitor expiring documents and renewals for compliance.
• Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions with Operations.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation in company systems.
• Provide regulatory guidance to internal teams.
• Support audits by preparing docs and responding to requests.
• Research routine compliance questions and escalate complex issues.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
• Contribute to process improvements in workflows and docs.
• Keep knowledge up-to-date with regulatory updates.
