Job summary

Cribl is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead the Data Engineering team in building and evolving the company’s data platform. You will shape architecture for analytics, data science, and decision-making across the organization, working at the intersection of the modern data stack and AI-driven workflows.

You will mentor engineers, own core data systems, and advance cost/performance, logging, and observability in a hybrid/self-hosted environment.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise with Snowflake including data modeling and cost/security design.
• Strong Python and SQL fundamentals with ELT patterns and data modeling experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and IaC (Terraform or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical lead for the Data Engineering team.
• Own architecture and design decisions for core data systems and drive reliable, production-grade outcomes.
• Mentor and grow junior and mid-level data engineers through code review, pairing, and coaching.
• Develop cloud-native services and infrastructure on AWS, including IaC and self-hosted workflows.
• Operate and optimize self-hosted orchestration platforms (Prefect preferred; others acceptable).
• Collaborate with Data Analytics, SRE, IT, and business teams to align roadmaps and priorities.
