Job summary

Cribl is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead Cribl's Data Engineering team, shaping architecture for analytics, data science, and decision-making. You will bridge the modern data stack (Snowflake, SQL, dbt) with cloud infra (AWS, IaC) and AI-driven workflows, while mentoring engineers and driving platform reliability and cost efficiency.

You will own data pipelines, the warehouse, and RBAC/governance, advancing the dbt practice and cloud-native services, with a hybrid self-hosted deployment

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Snowflake, including data modeling, query performance, and cost management.
• Proven technical leadership as a tech lead or staff-level engineer guiding architecture and delivery.
• Strong Python and SQL fundamentals with ELT and data modeling experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical lead for Cribl's Data Engineering team.
• Own architecture and design decisions for core data systems and drive reliable, production-grade outcomes.
• Partner with stakeholders across Data Analysts, SREs, IT Engineers, and business teams.
• Clarify requirements, validate outputs, and communicate risks, tradeoffs, and timelines proactively.
• Own and operate our self-hosted orchestration platform.
• Build, operate, and monitor data pipelines, ingestion services, and the data warehouse.
