Job summary

MediaNews Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to analyze revenue and expense accounts, prepare variance reports, and support quarterly projections and annual budgets. The role combines a focus on financial reporting with hands-on analysis and process documentation, using Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM.

You must reside in CO, FL, IL, MA, MN, OH, OK, PA, or TX to qualify for this remote position, and you will travel 10-25% to Denver.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics required.
• Strong Excel skills including XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, conditional logic, and dynamic linking.
• Experience with financial modeling and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data and create models for revenue, expenses, and strategic objectives.
• Prepare variance reports and support weekly projections and annual budgets.
• Document financial processes and controls; monitor variances against plans and forecasts.
