Job summary

MediaNews Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to analyze revenue and expense accounts, prepare variance reports, and support budgets. This remote role requires you to reside in PA and other listed states.

You will work with Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM, build forecasts, monitor variances, and contribute to weekly projections and annual budgets. Strong Excel skills and financial modeling experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics.
• Strong analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel with advanced lookups and conditional logic.
• Experience in financial modeling and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data by collecting, monitoring, and creating financial models for decision support for revenue, expense, and strategic objectives.
• Improve financial performance by analyzing results; monitor variances; compare actual results with plans and forecasts.
• Work with Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM reporting.
• Document and assess financial processes and controls; track and prioritize multiple projects.
