Job summary

MediaNews Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to analyze revenue and expense accounts, prepare variance reports, and support budgets and projections. The role leverages Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM for reporting and requires a solid foundation in financial analysis and modeling.

The position is remote with a requirement to reside in CO, FL, IL, MA, MN, OH, OK, PA, or TX, and travel to Denver 10-25% of the time. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics.
• Experience in financial forecasting and budgeting desired.
• Strong Excel skills including lookup and logical functions.
• Experience with financial reporting systems and controls.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data by collecting, monitoring, and building models for decision support on revenue and expenses.
• Identify variances and forecast performance against plans and forecasts.
• Prepare variance reports and support weekly projections and annual budgets.
• Work with Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM for reporting.
