Job summary

RethinkFirst is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team, reporting to the Controller. This role focuses on day-to-day accounting, month-end close, and maintaining GAAP-compliant records. Remote-friendly with Georgia-based flexibility and collaboration with senior management.

The ideal candidate holds an accounting or finance degree with 2–3 years of experience, strong Excel skills, and experience with Sage Intacct, supporting a high-performance, mission-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience expected.
• Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables and VLOOKUP.
• Experience with an ERP system, preferably Sage Intacct.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist month-end close with balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines for financial reporting and management review are met.
• Support external auditors with requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
