Job summary

Schweiger Dermatology Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day and month-end accounting operations. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will prepare monthly journal entries, perform reconciliations, and assist with audit requests.

This remote position is open to candidates in NY, NJ, PA, CT, FL, IL, MO, MN, and CA. Responsibilities include close processes, audit readiness, variance analysis, and cross-department collaboration, with a focus on accuracy and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of general accounting experience; month-end close and reconciliations preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and lookup functions.
• Experience with an ERP or general ledger system; multi-location or healthcare experience a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations with proper documentation.
• Assist with month-end close and close calendar.
• Support audit requests with schedules and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reporting schedules and variance analysis.
• Maintain audit-ready workpapers and reconciliation files.
• Analyze general ledger activity and correct posting errors.
• Collaborate across departments on financial matters.
