Job summary

Schweiger Dermatology Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day and month-end accounting operations. You will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, and assist with audits under the Accounting Manager. The role is remote and open to candidates in multiple states, including Illinois.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel skills. The company offers comprehensive benefits and a player-first working environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of general accounting experience; internship acceptable for new grads.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivots, lookups).
• Experience with an ERP/GL system; multi-location/healthcare is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and collaborative communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries including accruals and reclassifications with proper support.
• Perform monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
• Assist with audit requests and provide schedules and documentation as needed.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes per close calendar.
• Maintain organized, audit-ready workpapers and reconciliation files.
• Analyze GL activity for accuracy and correct posting errors.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting schedules and variance analyses.
• Suggest process improvements to the Accounting Manager.
• Contribute to ad hoc projects and analyses as required.
