Job summary

RethinkFirst, a leader in behavioral and mental health technology, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the accounting and finance team. The role reports to the Controller and will be central to month-end close and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Experience with ERP system like Sage Intacct preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication (verbal and written), organizational skills, and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work independently on deliverables to achieve accurate results.
• Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with senior management.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist the month-end close process, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines are met for financial reporting and management review.
• Support external auditors by providing requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP standards.
