Job summary

The Arbor Research Collaborative for Health is seeking a Staff Accountant to support general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and accounts payable in a government contracting environment. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile ledgers, and assist with project accounting and ASC 606 billing across contract types.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting or a related field.
• 3+ years of general ledger or staff accounting experience, including 2+ years with a government contractor or federally funded organization.
• Hands-on experience with Unanet, including GL processing and month-end utilities.
• Working knowledge of FAR Part 31, DCAA audit requirements, and indirect cost structures.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and account reconciliation practices.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups.
• Ability to meet close deadlines with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations including cash, A/R, A/P, and fixed assets.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare schedules and analyses such as budget-to-actual and variance reports.
• Maintain chart of accounts and collaborate with Accounting Manager.
• Assist with project setup, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and billing.
• Support audits with DCAA, DCMA, and external auditors; ensure FAR compliance.
