Job summary

Arbor Research Collaborative for Health (Arbor Research LLC) in the United States seeks a Staff Accountant to support the general ledger, month-end close, and accounts payable in a federal contracting environment. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile balances, and assist with ASC 606 revenue recognition and contract billing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Three or more years of general ledger or staff accounting experience, including government contractor or federally funded organization.
• Hands-on experience with Unanet, including GL processing and month-end utilities.
• Working knowledge of FAR Part 31, DCAA audit requirements, and indirect rate structures.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and account reconciliation practices.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaid amortization, depreciation, and reclassifications, in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare schedules and analyses for budget-to-actuals and overhead/general admin reporting.
• Maintain chart of accounts and organizational structure with Accounting Manager.
• Support labor cost distribution, timekeeping, and labor reconciliations with payroll and GL.
• Assist with project setup, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and contract billing across contract types.
• Respond to requests from DCAA, DCMA, cognizant agencies, and auditors; ensure FAR compliance.
