Job summary

Arbor Research Collaborative for Health seeks a Staff Accountant to support the general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and accounts payable in a government contracting environment. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist with ASC 606 revenue recognition and contract billing.

The role collaborates with the Accounting Manager and program teams to maintain strong financial controls and meet reporting deadlines, including DCAA and DCMA requests and compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of general ledger or staff accounting experience, including government contractor exposure.
• Experience with Unanet (timekeeping, expense, project, or financial modules).
• Knowledge of FAR Part 31, DCAA audit requirements, and indirect rate structures.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and account reconciliation practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations across cash, AR, unbilled receivables, AP, accruals, and fixed assets.
• Prepare schedules and analyses including budget-to-actual and variance reports for overhead and G&A.
• Maintain chart of accounts and organizational structure.
• Support labor cost distribution, timekeeping, and reconciliations between timekeeping, payroll, and GL.
• Assist with project setup, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and contract billing.
• Respond to DCAA, DCMA, cognizant agencies, and auditors; ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance.
• Review and code vendor/subcontractor invoices in Unanet; ensure costs charged to correct projects.
