Job summary

Arbor Research Collaborative for Health is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and accounts payable in a government contracting environment. The role collaborates with the Accounting Manager and program managers to maintain strong financial controls and timely reporting.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and at least three years of GL or staff accounting experience, including government contractor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of general ledger or staff accounting experience, including government contractor exposure.
• Working knowledge of FAR Part 31 and DCAA audit requirements.
• Strong GAAP understanding and account reconciliation skills.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data reconciliation).

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations (cash, AR, unbilled, AP, accruals, fixed assets).
• Prepare journal entries and support schedules for budget-to-actual analyses.
• Reconcile AP in Unanet and process vendor/subcontractor invoices.
• Assist labors cost distribution, timekeeping, and labor reconciliations between timekeeping, payroll, and GL.
• Support ASC 606 revenue recognition and billing across contract types.
• Coordinate with DCAA/DCMA and external auditors; respond to requests and ensure FAR compliance.
• Maintain vendor records and process annual 1099 filings; review payments and discrepancies.
