Job summary

RethinkFirst is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team in Lincoln, Nebraska. The role reports to the Controller and will be a key part of the accounting function.

Responsibilities include daily accounting tasks such as bank reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, supporting month-end close, and ensuring GAAP compliance. A 2–3 year accounting background and advanced Excel skills are preferred; remote-first with national reach is offered.

Qualifications

• Preferred undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance, with 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions)

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist the month-end close process, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines are met for financial reporting and management review.
• Support external auditors by providing requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP standards
