Job summary

RethinkFirst is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the accounting and finance team, reporting to the Controller. This key role supports day-to-day accounting activities and month-end close, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

You will handle reconciliations, journal entries, and audit support, while collaborating with senior management to deliver timely financial reporting and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Experience with ERP like Sage Intacct preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Assist month-end close processes, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines for financial reporting and management review.
• Support external auditors with requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP.
