Job summary

MediaNews Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to analyze revenue and expense accounts, prepare variance reports, and support budgets and projections. The role involves driving forecasting models and maintaining finance reporting across the business.

Remote role with residency in CO, FL, IL, MA, MN, OH, OK, PA, or TX; includes 401k, health/dental/life insurance, and paid time off. Strong Excel skills and knowledge of Oracle reporting are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting/finance/economics.
• Experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and variance analysis preferred.
• Proficiency with Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data by collecting, monitoring, and creating financial models for decision support.
• Improve financial performance by analyzing results; monitor variances and forecast.
• Work with Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM reporting; document financial processes.
