Job summary

MediaNews Group in Texas is seeking a Staff Accountant to analyze revenue and expense accounts, prepare variance reports, and support annual budgets. The role emphasizes finance reporting across the business and assisting with weekly projections.

Candidates will work with Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM, build financial models, and maintain processes and controls. Strong Excel skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with limited supervision are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics is required.
• Experience with financial data modeling and forecasting.
• Proficiency in Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM is preferred.
• Strong Excel skills including XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and conditional logic.

Responsibilities

• Analyze revenue and expense data and create variance reports to support planning.
• Develop forecasts and financial models to support budgets and projections.
• Maintain finance reporting across business areas and assist with weekly projections.
• Document financial processes and controls, and prioritize multiple projects.
