Job summary

MediaNews Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to analyze revenue and expense accounts, prepare variance reports, and support annual budgets and weekly projections. You will maintain finance reporting across the business and help with forecasts while working from a remote setting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics is required.
Strong financial analysis foundation and forecasting skills.
Proven proficiency with Excel (XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, IF/IFS, SUMIFS).

Responsibilities

Analyze financial data by collecting, monitoring, and creating financial models for decision support for revenue, expense, and strategic objectives.
Improve financial performance by analyzing results; monitor variances; compare actuals to plans and forecasts.
Work with Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM reporting.
Create forecasts and financial models with strong analytical methods.
Document financial processes and controls; prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
