Job summary

MediaNews Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to analyze revenue and expense accounts, prepare variance reports, and support annual budgets and projections. This remote role requires residing in one of the allowed states and involves working with finance reporting tools like Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM.

You will build models, analyze variances, and help maintain financial processes and controls while collaborating with the broader finance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or related field.
• Proven experience in financial analysis and forecasting.
• Strong skills with Excel including advanced functions and lookups.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data to support revenue, expenses, and strategic objectives.
• Monitor variances and compare actual results with plans/forecasts.
• Prepare and work with Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM reports.
