MediaNews Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to analyze revenue and expense accounts, prepare variance reports, and support budgets and projections. The role leverages Oracle SmartView, Oracle Cloud EPM, and advanced Excel for financial reporting and forecasting.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics and be able to thrive in a data-driven environment with strong analytical skills. The position is remote with U.S. residency requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics.
• Strong financial analysis foundation with forecasting and modeling experience.
• Experience with financial reporting and variance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data by collecting, monitoring and creating models for decision support.
• Improve financial performance by analyzing results and monitoring variances.
• Work with Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM reporting.
• Develop forecasts and analytical financial models.
• Build quantitative and qualitative analyses for business decisions.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions (XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, etc.).
• Develop and document financial processes and controls.
• Prioritize workload and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
