Job summary

RethinkFirst is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the accounting and finance team, reporting to the Controller. This role will perform day-to-day accounting activities, assist with month-end close, and support the external audit process.

The ideal candidate has a preferred undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance with 2–3 years of accounting experience and advanced Excel skills. Remote-first workplace with national reach is offered, plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Preferred undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance, with 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions)

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist the month-end close process, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines are met for financial reporting and management review.
• Support external auditors by providing requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP standards
