Job summary

RethinkFirst, a leader in behavioral health technology, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the accounting and finance team reporting to the Controller. The role is critical for timely financial reporting and effective internal controls.

The candidate will handle bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close support, and liaison with auditors. Excellent communication and independent delivery are essential in this remote-first, national role.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables and VLOOKUP.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist the month-end close process, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines are met for financial reporting and management review.
• Support external auditors by providing requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
